Healixia lunchmeeting: The landscape of mobile medical applications in Belgium
In the rapidly evolving landscape of healthcare technology, Belgium was at the forefront of integrating mobile medical applications with the theoretical mHealthBelgium framework. Nowadays, surrounding countries as Germany and France are evolving much faster.
This session will focus on the potential and value of mobile applications in transforming patient care and medical diagnostics, the current state of reimbursement procedures by RIZIV-INAMI and the hurdles in daily practice. You will discover the role of beMedTech and Agoria in advocating for and implementing standards for medical apps and promoting technological innovation in the healthcare sector.

About the speaker:
Steven Vandeput holds a master degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, both at KU Leuven. After his research activities, he held several positions within the university, ranging from project manager of multidisciplinary R&D projects towards research manager and innovation manager being responsible for all industry interactions and tech transfer activities related to biomedical data analytics.
Steven is passioned about health, digital technologies and innovation and is also holder of a MBA on Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management. Since January 2019 he joined beMedTech, the sector federation that represent the industry of medical technologies in Belgium, where he is Advisor for Digital MedTech and Services & Technologies Home Assistance. In that function, he also manages the mHealthBelgium portal.
