Although vision statements of all pharmaceutical companies reflect on saving and improving lives, the sector accounts for a significant fraction of global (air) pollution, impacting global health. Up to now, there was relatively little pressure on the pharma industry to become more sustainable, but times are changing with the Paris Climate Agreement on our heels. Some companies are already operating at the level needed to meet the Paris climate accords, but time is running out for the laggards.
